Just Linking: Aug 10th, 2007

Via the Sartorialist:

Omiru readers believe Bohemian fashion is out, what do you say? Trisha’s tip:

If you love bohemian fashion, wear it in moderation. Pair your hippie-chic tunic with a structured pair of pants. Or wear your flowy dress with a sophisticated handbag and shoes. Oh, and buy it on the cheap–this is a fleeting trend, at best.

*groan*

In basic blogging business, I am presently involved in decluttering my sidebar … and it’s not going well.

  1. Technically, I think bohemian is out, but I’ve seen quite a few people wearing tiered skirts and the like. They’re toned down – a few wooden beads here, a tiered skirt there – but they don’t have the level of embellishment they once had. If you like it, have fun!

Ooh, and I was about to comment on the strange new blogroll. 🙂 Actually…I have to admit that I really dislike the “random blog links” format. Not that I mind getting a list of random links, but rarely am I going to seek out someone else’s bloglist if it isn’t on the sidebar. Since I don’t have a blog, I often use some of my favorite blogs as link “homepages” after I’ve read them.

  2. I spotted that Coats That Move photo before. I am craving that look. However, you have to admit that it falls afoul of your rule of ridiculous contradictions signifying a fad. It only “moves” if left loose to blow in the wind. Me, either I’m (too) hot or (too) cold. But I want to be that woman who can make it work.

  3. My sidebar is sooo cluttered, I think yours looks nice! But maybe you’ve already done your de-cluttering! Ha.

Thanks for mentioning the Carnival of Modesty! :O)

  4. About the sidebar/blogroll: I found the same thing you ladies mention — someone would pop into my mind and I would click over here, knowing they were in my blogroll. Sometimes they were one of the random links, other times not. For the size of this blog, I guess the length of the blogroll isn’t that big of a deal, especially if it’s useful to people!
