Real Fashion for Real People! Icy’s Formal Work Outfit

One of the things I love about blogging is getting a more global point of view. Like remembering that, just because it’s 100 degrees here, doesn’t mean that’s the case everywhere. Elsewhere, like Australia where Icy is, it’s winter.

(BTW, did you know that in Australia the best coffee is made with a plunger?!?!?)

On to Icy’s Real Fashion for Real People entry:
icys-work-formal-outfit.JPG

Personal Style: Somewhere between Alternative and Contemporary.

Lifestyle: Work formal (what I call “business”).

What follows is Icy’s description of each piece. On her own blog, she posted a few additional thoughts about the way the pieces go together.

Bottom: My best black high-waisted pants from Cue.

Top: Maroon and black striped shirt from Ojay, black vest from Target, maroon tie from Rivers.

Shoes: Black cowperson boots made somewhere in Georgia (the Baltic state rather than the United one).  cowperson?  lol

Thanks so much to Icy for participating!  You’re too clever!

  1. I like her outfit, though it could use some more red! Perhaps in shoes?
However, a geography-related quibble – the non-American Georgia is in fact in the Caucasus region, and shares a border with Russia and Turkey (among others). Whereas the Baltic states are in North-Eastern Europe, just overseas from Scandinavia.

  2. Wow, it’s 105 degrees here, which is lower than it has been!

I love the striped shirt. I’d like to see it untucked, poking out from the bottom of the vest.

    love the boots, too.

  3. The boots are very cool – a unique match to put them with business attire, and it definitely works for Icy!

  4. Bonnie, Err, it’s not meant to be untucked (possibly the shirt is just showing under the vest), but I’ll try that with non-high waisted pants next time ^_^

Rebecca, thanks so much for the post! It was 0.7 deg C (33 deg F) when I left home at 7:30 this morning. It was the coldes morning in Sydney for 20 years!
