Just Linking: April 2, 2007

Just a few random links to keep you from noticing that I have not posted a Month of Sundays project for April yet (I have, however, painted my toenails blue!):

The best mascara ever (mascara primer?) via I Should Be Folding Laundry. (I’m going to have to try that! I have the shortest eyelashes ever.)

Top 10 Modest Swimsuits via The Abundant Life.

And over at The Bargain Queen:

In her post on putting colors together, the advanced technique is new to me; but one of those things that’s new and yet was always there (like – “of course, I get it now!”):

the 60/30/10 rule, about which she says

“I’d certainly recommend trying this at home… but given the difficulty in getting it right, you’ll probably want to take some photos and make sure you’ve got it right before you leave the house!”

Sounds like this week’s Fashion Lab to me! I’m willing to try. Anyone else?

  1. best mascara ever? the debate rages on in every beauty magazine and blog out there. friends who are make up artists have always told me that applying a single coat each of 2 different mascaras work the best and i have found this to be true in my own make up experiments. usually one lengthening and one thickening or curling or separating or waterproof, whichever you need. don’t forget to comb out with a clean mascara brush.

  2. Obviously I am really far out of the loop on beauty stuff! I have to buy mascara soon, so I am definitely going to try your suggestion. (The other great thing about that would be I could just use one or the other on days when I didn’t want to bother.)

Thanks VC! I need all the help I can get.

  3. Good luck with the 60-30-10 rule post! I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

It’s a little bit trickier to get right than using shades of one colour or all the same tonal values, but well worth the effort!
