Are Black Pumps Frumpy?

Charity Grace writes:

What about dress shoes? I bought a pair of versatile black pumps the other day, but now I’m having second thoughts. Such as, are they too old-lady-ish? (I’m still in my 20’s.) Should I go for something more up-to-date? I’ll be wearing them with long black skirts and tailored skirt suits for the most part.

Here’s a link to the ones I bought.

Are they timeless and classy, or blah and frumpy? My husband thinks they are classic; I’m not sure. What do you think?

Although I have several friends my age who would wear those, I would not. For the reasons you mentioned. They are just not quite right. They aren’t terrible, but they don’t support the same idiom as those cute Skechers you posted back in the summer.

Btw, some of the older teens and trendy college kids are wearing older pumps, if you have access to any of those, in the meantime. It’s worth a try, they’re pretty cheap (hand-me-down or thrift).
