What to Wear to This Spring’s Semi-Casual Banquet

In keeping with my resolution to blog my outfits prior to events, and simply because the invitation designation “semi-casual” (go back and read the definition post) cracks me up everytime I think about it, here, with no further fanfare, is my outfit for next Monday night. Yes, if you’ve been reading any length of time, you’ve seen it before. That’s okay, as quickly as it’s warming up here, it’s now or never.pumps-and-sequins.JPG

  • In my idiom, a very up-to-date pant silhouette is preferred. Hence, the short-sleeved pants.
  • I don’t mind wearing vintage shoes. Especially when they are this cool.
  • The “rockin’ belt”. ($2, brand new!)
  • Again, concerning my personal idiom, sequin t-shirt = evening. (A secret: 2 years ago, to this very event, one of my daughters wore this top with a black skirt.)
  • If it’s too hot, I’ll skip the jacket.

Just so nobody thinks I’m being disrespectful, nothing was said this year about not wearing shorts.

When I told one of the teens that semi-casual was half as nice as she would wear to see her Grandma, she said:

“I wear sweats to my Grandma’s.”

To which I replied, “Cut them off.” He hee.

  1. I am in LOVE with your blazer. I’ve been dying to find a bold blazer like that in a deep red, purple.. or something. Your entire outfit is beautiful!! I love the way you mixed and matched the vintage green shoes with the purple and punched it up with the belt.. 🙂 Kudos

  2. I can definitely wear a small… but I don’t have a Limited here in Canadia 🙁

You guys get all the great shops!! All we have is groundbreaking sunscreen (L’Oreal’s Ombrelle) and great drug stores like Shoppers Drug Mart.
