I hope I win, I hope I win, I hope I win …
Just in case I don’t, here are a few questions for you:
- Did you notice that I achieved success with the related entries plugin? YAY! Do you like it and do you think 3 posts is a good number to show?
- If I don’t win a custom design, do you totally hate this theme? I had initially thought I would just keep this one and tinker with the colors, and eventually maybe figure out how to build a banner or something. (I guess I’m a die-hard do-it-yourselfer.)
- What do you dislike the most about the mess I’ve got over there in the categories?
As always, any suggestions are appreciated. Just sometimes I don’t have the skills to implement them right away.
I think that everything looks okay as is. Somehow the simplicity looks good and works for you, and yes there is pride in doing it yourself!
Thanks, Jennifer.
You mentioned simplicity – I think I have decided that, even if I ever get any of those buttons and awards and so-forth, I don’t really want to decorate my sidebar with them long term.
But I am going to get a picture up. Soon. This week would be good.
Hey-I really, really do intend to get the info posted in my blog about the “improve your blog” month stuff this week, and I’ll be posting links to bunches and bunches of free stuff along the way. There are some really great free templates out there (although I do like the calm soothing classy colors of this one) but I think you’ll especially like that I found a bunch of sites with free banner makers!
Thanks Jenn. I am totally looking forward to finding out about some free help!
The other challenge I have been working on is getting a way to put the blog into newsletter form, but not daily like Feedblitz. Today it occurred to me that I probably have the ability to do it within my hosting system. Hopefully I will get that conquered soon too!
Love the idea of related posts (I may steal it). The colours are nice, but the background image for the main posts overlaps onto the categories. It my just be my browser though (IE7 on Windows XP).
