4 thoughts on “How Much Sleep Do You Get?”

  1. I usually sleep from about 1100 (I actually go to bed at 1030 most nights, but it takes my brain 10-20 minutes to shut down) and wake up between 630-700. So that is 7 1/2 or 8 hours typically. I usually feel like I could sleep at least 1 more hour.

  2. Usually 6.5 to 7 hours, punctuated by 2-5 “kid events” necessitating leaving the comfort of my bed to get them settled back in theirs. I would be fine on 7 hours if it was continuous. I can no longer nap successfully — probably because when I was a good napper I was also a late night partier. Napping to make up for lost sleep the night before only sets the stage for staying up too late and repeating the whole thing over again.

My doctor told me this week that getting more sleep will help with my weight loss. I believe it.

  3. I have two kids, including an infant.

I go to bed at 10 or 11, and pass out. I wake up sometime between 1 dn 4 in the morning to nurse the baby most nights, but not every night. then go back to bed and pass out! then I get up at 6 or 6:30 to get my husband off to work. I sometimes nap, but usually dont.

On average I get between 6 and 8 hours of sleep a night. Sometimes it is only in three hour spurts though and i think that is the hardest.

But I seem to function well without sleep, and can command my mind to sleep instantly. I lay down and bewteen 2 and 10 minutes later I am asleep.

  4. From 10:30 or so until about 6:15–I guess that’s 8 hours! But honestly, sometimes I’m still really really tired. . . . It comes and goes in phases. I’ve been trying to get up earlier, so I think that this is telling me that I could and I wouldn’t miss it.
