This (short) week’s posts have focused on black, which has been one of the most controversial topics of all time, at least since 2005/06 when I started blogging. In the archives, though, I found this old post which explains the “how”, in general terms, to yesterday’s “what”.
Three great accent colors are present in the eye: the main (iris) eye-color, a shade of white, and black (the pupil). Try wearing one or all of them with a blazer in your hair color.
From the comments:
Forgive this, very basic question: So everyone can wear black? (since it’s in the pupil of the eye.)

Rebecca Says:
That is a very good question; no forgiveness needed. I think everyone can wear black as an accent.
So, there it is, the strategy for incorporating black shoes into the wardrobe when that is all that’s available or practical:
Create an accent infrastructure with black by repeating it again elsewhere in small doses.
I’d forgotten about that post/idea. How cool is that – that everyone has some black! I love black accents to things because it’s so emphatic. (part of my personality)
Lol. I had forgotten about it too, but it fits so nicely with everything that I am currently thinking really works. And I find that black and white work really well for me in a small to medium scale print, like the skirt I wore to the first daughter’s wedding.
There is a part of me that feels like I am somehow disrupting the blog by moving and morphing old posts, but I am trying to think of it as editing. It seems cleaner to do that than to trust this much content to links and categories (which is also something I need to work on).
