Preview Target’s Black Friday Ad
I was going to start writing again regularly. But I didn’t. Now I don’t know if I will, not because I don’t have anything to say, but because I am contemplating whether your opinion of what I have to say is more important to me than it should be.
Still, I like to be helpful and cooperative, even if that is not a popularly valued trait (and why do I care?). That is why I posted the link above to Target’s Black Friday Ad. And it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if you used it and I made a tiny commission off your purchase 😉
We do want to hear! I’ve been checking back a few times a year since you quit posting. I love hearing well-thought out remarks from a Christian perspective that show common sense + how fashion can be thoughtful, not frivolous.
Thanks, Alyssa!
I was just thinking today about how it might look if I were to get back to blogging regularly. Certainly it would be different! It was just not healthy for me to care that much about what people thought about what I said, checking for new comments all the time and getting my feelings hurt. But if I am not striving for affirmation, what am I doing? I am not even sure I know what I am like. Or what I like.
Today I turned in my last writing assignment for school; all I have left is to show up in class two days a week and study for the final. I had already decided I won’t take any more classes until after my daughter’s June wedding; then, today, it occurred to me that I probably won’t recognize God’s direction for me until I get rid of all the structures in my life that I have used to try to build for myself a fulfilling life. Lol. I hope that makes sense, but I just feel like all the striving for affirmation in the world is never going to be satisfying and I just have to wait on Jesus and enjoy Him.
Can’t wait to see what He does!
Rebecca, many readers enjoy your intelligent posts. With these days of short texts and quick social media half-sentences, the art of writing seems to be lost until we come to a blog like yours. Please post from time to time, and keep up the wonderful work to promote modesty!
Thank you. And I confess I was looking for the like button on this comment. Lol
Happy Thanksgiving (and Black Friday!) 🙂
I came to visit you today. Miss you!
