In other art – life news, today was my first session of beginning drawing at the senior center. In case I haven’t already told you – I’m so excited! – they don’t check your age at the senior center. The people couldn’t be nicer!
Is this a good time for me to go off on a rant about allowing ourselves to be chunked up into our peer groups to the degree that we either fear or disdain anyone more than a year or two different from us in age? Just wondering. More on that topic to come, no doubt.
Lovely! I recognize T., who is the other one? When are you going to do me? xoxo

My peeve too. It’s not even just age, it’s almost every demographic characteristic. Church is the absolute worst – but then, I’m sure you know that.
p.s. neglected to say, your art is so lovely!
Beth – no doubt I will at some time when a photo of you strikes me, since you have high contrast coloring. I’ve been casually looking for the right photo of you for some time. It needs to be high contrast, simple and few shapes. The face you don’t recognize is from a magazine ad, and doesn’t actually resemble the model completely, but oh well!
Mella DP – still it’s comforting to know that I’m not the only one who feels that way. About the segregation, but thanks for the compliment on the art too. 😉
Very lovely work! Mixing ages creates community; segregation destroys it.
Very nice Rebecca!
Duchesse: Great comment, just one too many words…..
If I may …..

Rebecca: Lovely work, as I thot it would be. Think they’ll ever teach how to paint ’round’?
I have friends from all age groups, I couldn’t agree with you more. Beautiful art work also, btw.
Go for the rant! I share Mella’s distaste for church-related age segregation, which I’ve seen a lot of lately. I’ve always kind of liked the idea that some universities have, of providing faculty retirement housing on campus — it’s convenient for doddering to the library and there’s nothing to keep you young like hearing the same embarrassing kegger stories from a new generation.
It’s so much fun to see your art; I particularly like the one on the left for its shading.
Great art Rebecca – wow you have some talent!
My parents are young in mental age because they spend a lot of time mixing with friends who are considerably younger than they I think!
