… and heard things like “glamourous”. Along with a little ribbing for wearing white after labor day. 😉 (I know the top is not bright or print, but the dark/light contrast is actually really good on me with my dark eyes and light hair.)
More to come this week on scheduled maintenance. And my hair appointment is Wednesday.
What’s going on in your world?
Looks nice, and I’m excited to see Wednesday’s results!!
The photo is kind of dark so it’s hard to see the top, but the slacks look just as amazing as I thought they good. Good choice! My hair appointment is Sunday. Looking forward to seeing what we both end up with!
Tell them they know nothing about fashion and after labour day it’s called Winter White. You look elegant!
Looking forward to seeing your new hair!
Whether you call it winter white or an outfit from your transition wardrobe, you look fabulous.
Phew! Am I glad you ladies liked this outfit! Because I was going to wear it anyway! lol
Could that be another reason for people’s reluctance to use an Image Consultant (or even to try to improve themselves)? I mean, the fear that their personal favorites will be shot down (or mocked)? That certainly seems to be the formula used by the TV makeover celebrities.
That’s the thing I hate about TV makeovers, is that they tend to use some humiliation to change people, or create conflict (which is an unnecessary process). I would never describe someone as having chunky legs or a bum like a sack of potatoes, but I’ve defnitely heard people on makeover shows doing this.
I believe in positive language and making my clients feel better about themselves, giving them more confidence in their appearance and working with what works for them.
I think it’s great what you’re doing Rebecca.
Thanks for your encouragement Imogen! Your nurturing spirit really comes across; I’m sure you are a real blessing to your clients.
The other thing that bugs me about the TV makeovers, and really Clinton and Stacy are the only ones I’ve watched much, is the lack of consideration for the style personality or individual idiom. All those people seem to come out looking like a Clinton and Stacy clone and the reason that they look better is because they looked bad before.
I am having fun, but it is a little bit stressful. 8)
