And now, for some blog introductions:
- Beauty Resource Blog, the purpose of which is to review popular beauty products including make-up, skin care and anything else to make girls look and feel beautiful.
- Aging Fabulous also posts alot on those topics and I highly recommend her post Stop Putting on so Much Perfume! I’m certain all of you are far to considerate to make me eat your fragrance for dinner, if you get my drift.
- DC Goodwill has a fashion blog! (Anyone know where I stumbled on that information? I owe somebody a hat-tip link.) It’s mission: Goodwill’s fashion blog provides detailed knowledge and insight on vintage and contemporary clothing and accessories that are valuable to fashion shoppers. The facts and opinions shared also present readers with entertaining, exciting and value based information on vintage and contemporary fashion and shopping trends. Sounds like us, doesn’t it?
- I don’t mention her very often, but I have read Amy’s Humble Musings consistently from the beginning of my blog-life. She links here simply because I am a regular reader and I have asked her to. If you are a regular reader who would like a link from me, please drop me a line.
Other random linkage:
Liebemarlene is obsessing on ankle boots. Did I tell you there was a pair in one of my recent boxes of grandma treasures? Black with fur trim! After I get the re-heeled, I am really going to wear them. (I highly doubt I’ll strike anyone as an “impossibly chic Carine Roitfeld type”. LOL)
Emily Yoffe goes back-to-school shopping (a link I ran across at MIntheGap). As a mother of daughters there was nothing to earth-shattering to me in the article; the comments, however, were appalling! The first several (as far as I read) defended the sexualization of clothing for pre-teen girls as a normal part of growing up and becoming sexual beings.
But I’m beginning to notice another thought in the back of my highly-tuned-to-modesty mind: is it perhaps appropriate for a wedding dress to be a bit sexy (*gasp!*)?
The boots were mine and I actually did wear them – with a black ‘nipped-in-waist’ed coat trimmed in a similar faux fur. Those were the good ol’ days. Hope you enjoy yours as much:-))
Hey, I still have that awesome fur collar you gave me. If only I could find something to attach it to. Hmmm, now that I have the boots, I have additional inspiration.
I assume the LBD with the sequin waistband was yours too. I sure hope one of us has somewhere to wear it this year. 🙂
Mmmmmmm. Describe it a bit more – or post it (in person).
The black dress? I’ll have to picture it some day, I don’t know that I can come up with words to describe it. It’s pretty cool, though. I’m thinking it’s cool enough that if it was yours you’d have a vivid memory of it. You should ask Grandma if it was hers. It’s so awesome to be the same size as both of you. 🙂
