SCORE! Today, in our final pre-Halloween Monday morning thrifting excursion, the skirt dd had been eyeing was the 99 cent color tag. She didn’t even notice the brand-new tags were still attached until coming out of the fitting room! It’s hard to tell in the pictures, but it’s an Eddie Bauer corduroy brown herringbone with a single pleat in the front.
And since I had to re-shoot all the pictures due to my photographic incompetence, I’m just going to be quiet now … grumble, grumble. I probably wouldn’t be able to say anything nice anyway. I have told you that I have zero interest in photography, haven’t I?
Update: since this post is (marginally) about daughters, it seems appropriate to mention the new blog carnival at Real Life: Mothers and Daughters Blog Carnival. Check it out!
What a great skirt! I am such a sucker for brown corduroy. Great outfits, too. If I owned it (I wish!) I would wear it with brighter colors: reds or greens.
What a great find!!! $0.99 just can’t be beat. I think I’d pair it with a wrap white top, or a patterned camisole with a light teal shrug over it.. mm 🙂
I love the richness of the brown cord, especially with the cowboy boots.
I have difficulty putting my finger on why, but I like look #4 the best (naturally, it would be fun with the boots, too) — perhaps it seems most youthful to me.
That corduroy jacket looks to be an excellent match.
Wow, that is an impressive deal!!
I think lately Brown is becoming the new black! They are making things in so many great colors to go with it!
My favorite outfits are the first and the fourth (love the shoes in the fourth!!!). I honestly would have never thought to pair it with the cowboy boots but it is adorable that way!
Great outfits.
Sorry I haven’t commented much lately-I’ve been lurking though!
I like the 3d and the 4th best. It may just be that my eye has grown used to this low horizontal accent. But the feet seem to disappear for me in the 3d. I’d like a deeper tone shoe there.
Love all of the outfits and great deal on the skirt!
Thanks, ladies, for overlooking my grumpiness about the photos. 🙂
My daughter was so excited when she realized she finally had a skirt she could wear with her cowboy boots. But you all have made some other inspiring suggestions as well.
Interesting how #4, as simple as it is, is a favorite. I think maybe it just exemplifies basic principles of balance and proportion.
Jenn ~ no worries. You’ve got alot going on. 😉
I love all these!! Fall is on its way, isn’t it/????
Yes, I love the fourth one — black top / green underlayer with the skirt. Great find!
