Certainly in the time I’ve been blogging, the answer has changed. Or maybe the question has changed, evolving from “why did you start blogging?” to “why do you continue to blog?” or even “why on earth do you post 10 times a week?”
Since Icy kindly tagged me, I have obviously been giving the question some thought. In the background has been this post at ProBlogger, which asks the question, “what is the future of blogging?” The problem presented there is repetitious content.
Even further in the back of my mind is the idea that a friend once proposed (you may identify yourself if you wish) that everyone should have a book about themselves on a library shelf somewhere, and that perhaps blogging fills that purpose.
My conclusion: even if a person is keeping a very light or random posting schedule, their blog says something about them. If they participate in the conversation here, we have somewhere to look for more information. And if I wish to refer to them, I have somewhere to link.
Back to the point: why I blog. Simply put, I have stuff to say.
What about you: Stacy, Debi, Beth, Jody, and MIn; why do you blog? No pressure.
Hey Rebecca, thanks for thinking about it!
Interesting…
I blog because it’s something to do. I find it fun/interesting. I like finding different articles and (hopefully) helping people out in the process by bringing to attention something that they may not have thought about before like gel sunscreens. Or like you, it’s my reference. I have a list of links I always visit, and at work, I go through that list, one by one, reading and catching up on my favourite sites/blogs. 🙂
Hmmmmm. I’ve only just begun blogging. For the moment, I think it will be a journal of my days more than anything. I could do it in Word. Why a blog? Not sure. It may last, it may not. It’s an experiment for me at the moment.

Rebecca, good thoughts! I, too, am a “conversational blogger”. I’d like my comments section to be give and take.
