Ha ha! It’s a good thing we are all friends around here, because some of these photos are just not flattering. Glamorous I am not. If I were, I would have re-shot them.
From I Am Fashion’s 6 Ways to Wear the White Blouse:
This season, take the white blouse out from under the suit/sweater/vest and try something new.
Herein lies my first problem. This is what I actually wore the day we shot these pictures. And why my white shirt is wrinkled in all of them.
Amazing how short my legs look compared to any of the previous pictures of me in these shorts! (But then, who cares if my legs look short?)
Back to the 6 ways:
- Roll up the sleeves and wear them loose over bermuda shorts for a casual look.
- Have you ever wondered how to wear those very pretty skirts with details at the waist?
- For something more formal and business casual, go for the power woman look by contrasting your white blouse with high-waisted black skirts and black pumps. How sad! This picture actually looked good, but got lost somehow between the camera and this post.
- For business casual there is of course the white blouse with dress pants. (These are simulation dress pants. Like the belt?)
- Then you can also tuck it into tailored bermuda shorts instead of leaving it out for a more ladylike look.
- Lastly, wear them underneath dresses! I’m sure you can do better than I did. Perhaps I should have added a tie, a la Sales Rack Raider’s suggestion?
Can you see the outfits well enough to form an opinion?
Here’s my thought for next week: something having to do with pattern. Perhaps pattern mixing?
I love the 4th look the best — the one with the tailored bermudas and the tucked in shirt. I think it makes for a great spring/summer look!
I’m with Carrie! You look (the most) lovely in the pics with the shirt tucked in! Me & my baby belly can’t handle that so well right now ;]

I also like the bermudas with the shirt tucked in, and the scarf belt. I would also like the first outfit (the one you really wore), with the vest, if you were wearing sandals.
I also like the very first outfit, sans those shoes. But my favorite is the last one–the jumper.
Photographer and I liked the one with the scarf belt alot too and were trying to decide when and where I would wear that soon.
The jumper concept is great, but there is something about that one that just doesn’t work for me. Any takers?
How about wearing the white shirt sort of like a jacket, over a tank top and tied at the waist? I always thought that looked very “cool”.
Yes! I am so ready for that look I am going to be wearing it this season whether it’s in or not.
Actually not long ago I was wearing it. But that wasn’t actually what I left the house wearing. I stopped at the store and tried some stuff on before going home. It was a warm day and I was too lazy to do up all my buttons, so instead of putting my button-up shirt back on with the tank over it, I reversed the order and tied the shirt at the waist. LOL
I also put my socks in my purse, instead of back on my feet.
I love the first look too. Casually elegant. And it would be super with a hoodie or short blazer as well.
I love white shirts. I don’t think anything is more flattering or fresher!
BTW, thanks for visiting my blog (Sorta Frugal). Please do check out grocerygame.com. It’s reasonable and a lot of fun…and it saved me enough money this year to buy a new computer!
I will definitely wear the first look, Wendy. And that new hoodie is pretty much the color of the stripe in the plaid!
Ok, Mom2, I am motivated now! 🙂
Wow. Like it’s meant to be! 🙂
I think the shirt tucked in with trousers looks best!
