This picture is from an Ellegirl.com feature on street style in Ecuador and Spain. Personally, I have a weakness for fashion magazines, but don’t subscribe to any, so it was loads of fun to flip through these pictures. This was my favorite.
She’s got all the basics down:
- Style personality. (There is nothing confusing here, only contemporary classic congruence.)
- Silhouette. Emphasizing the roundness of the shoulder area with the cap-sleeve creates a credible figure-eight.
- Lifestyle. Undoubtedly this young lady was treated well in the shops!
What else do you notice?
About white shirts (what’s not to love?): if you didn’t catch it at The Bargain Queen, I am Fashion has a wonderful post: 6 Ways to Wear the White Blouse. All 6 are inspiring! (Starting with “roll up the sleeves and wear them loose over bermuda shorts …”)
I love her outfit. Especially the top… The only caveat I see, is wearing heels when shopping. I don’t know about you, but I’m a fast walker, and I like to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time… I can basically suss out the entire mall in about an hour or two of things to remember. Then I go back and buy the pieces I actually want after seeing what’s available…
Yeah. I gather she is moving at a more leisurely pace.
Probably alot depends on the mall. I have decided I should take a pair of heels with me to wear if I decide to stop at the mall downtown here, it’s a fairly glamorous environment. But also small. The large mall in town is a more democratic environment, stylish sneakers are fine. And the mall out in the suburbs? Accepted dress can best be described as assorted tacky. lol
