New trend? Strapless dresses over shirts at Fabulously Broke in the City.
This one really works for those innovators who wish to retain their modesty. Takers?
Blest with sons is having a spring sale. (She beads, you know.) I especially like the earrings she’s showing and, at two pair for $12, shipping included, they are a frugal splurge!
Elleabelle at Blooming Lily also makes beautiful jewelry and has a new banner over at her blog. Blest, check out this cool belt concept she’s featured; you are so creative, I’m sure you could make one.
Mrs Lady at Moms the Word got married.  I’m proud to announce that makes her my daughter-in-law. (Did you guess there was a connection?)
If you read the comments on Carrie’s fashion post, you already know I’m trying to talk her into modeling for next week’s fashion lab. We’re all curious about baby doll tops, aren’t we?
Congratulations on gaining a daughter-in-law!!!! I honestly had no idea you were a Grandma! I could only hope that I am as cute, fashionable, and fun as you are when I become one!
I will definitely do the babydoll tops for you! I’ve been thinking about the options of what I can do. I wish my closet was even larger so I had even more, but then again don’t we all! hehe
Speaking of baby doll tops and shirts under strapless dresses, I actually bought a baby doll over the weekend that was sleeveless, but had a white shirt attached. I loved it because the neckline was high, but it was still kind of flirty and fun!
I was checking out Blest’s jewelry the other day! It’s adorable, and makes me sorta wish I had my ears pierced!
Thanks for the congrats~and admitting in front of all blogdom that we are related! Ha ha ha ha. You certainly ARE a fashionable and fun grandma.
Congrats! All ’round!
Yay! Congratulations on a new daughter-in-law! 🙂
Shirt under a strapless dress? Eek… It looked good on Sarah Jessica Parker, but it’s not something I think I could pull off (at least not until it gets to my car on the fashion train). 🙂 It’s definitely an interesting idea!
Adding my congratulations.
Baby doll tops. Puts me in mind of those “angel blouses” we all wore in the early 60’s. Very much like a full choir robe with sleeves and length chopped short. Full but floaty. Above the waist.
I think that might be something to be tested. If you look at low jeans and belly shirts, some people have no problem showing where their waist is. But baby dolls often hit lower than that. I think that’s what makes them look maternity. Can’t look pregnant if the waist and belly can be seen to be smaller and flatter.
Hmmm. I suppose that’s true, but there’d have to be something worn under it. And then some baby doll tops just seem to have enough structure or drape or something that I never think pregnant. It must also have something to do with the body shape.
By the end of the trend we’ll all have it figured out!
If you are going to wear a t shirt with a strapless dress, then it better be a pretty form fitting t shirt to begin with!
And congrats on the MIL!! wow! I didn’t know either. How fun. I can see you are going to be the “cool” grandma like mine was. My grandma didn’t knit-she took us to the Mall to go shopping.
Thanks, Jenn. I’m afraid I’m not off to a great start. Well, in my mind anyway. You see, “cool grandma”s always carry Lifesavers in their purse. I haven’t even gotten to the point of adequate mother (that would be kleenex in the purse). lol
