Random stuff from around the blogosphere:

Late entry:  Kleja, who lives, blogs, and creates great stuff to sell on etsy in Spokane, pictured in her new pants (but I’m looking at her shoes).

Business in Miami in July, via Omiru. More hot weather authority dressing for you southern gals. I love the shirtdress idea!

My innovative friend Jill, wearing my Grandma’s dress – it’s so Jackie O!

Speaking of fabulous, and right on target with our current discussion of combining black with colors, Gala darling’s post from the first Fabulous! Festival at the Bargain Queen is a don’t miss: a very thorough treatment on how to get away from an all-black wardrobe and branch out into wearing color (you know who you are ;)!). Also in Gala’s post, an explanation of the modified seasonal color system (where each of the four seasons is broken down into three sub-categories). BTW, don’t forget: The Festival’s here Monday!

Something I ran into while researching: this article on wearing hats via The Morning News. Any hat wearers around here?

  1. I do wear a hat, but mostly in the garden and yard. I spend lots of time outdoors and so a nice straw hat works well for me. I bought a man’s straw hat that has a band inside that makes it “one size fits all” because it will give a little for the larger head (or big hair — mine).

I’ve got a great hat catalog that I really want to order from. Wallaroo. Lots of neat styles and colors. Check them out!

  2. Jody, although I look really stupid in hats, last year at an art show I got one – kind of a salmon pink – and it actually looks very much like the one on the front page of WallarooHats.com.

I haven’t worn it much, but I like:

it’s cotton. So if I get hot I can get it wet.
it has a little string inside (I think I have a big head, so it’s hard to find hats that fit)
it coordinates with alot of my clothes. it’s even the same color as the flowers on my Hawaiian dress.

I’ve been thinking about picturing it. I’ll have to do that some time. 🙂

  3. I used to wear them a lot when I was a young teen, but lost my nerve somewhat as I got older. DH is a devoted hat-wearer and has never forgiven Kennedy for sending them out of fashion. So with him for solidarity, I tend to wear hats fairly often outside nowadays. I have a practical but cute jean one for every day trips to the park and a really cute roll-brim straw one for fancier outdoor events. Also a fuzzy camel one for the winter. I still haven’t gotten nervy enough to wear them in a really official outfittish way, but maybe I will someday.

  4. I have winter hats. I have one hat I wear during light rain. I’d like a real rain hat, but I am struggling to find one that suits me. And I have one summer hat.
