Should You Wear Black?

Should You Wear Black? And what does Drew Carey Have to do with it?

Last week at the gym, The Price is Right was on the overhead TV and I laughed out loud. Drew Carey, in a black suit, gray shirt, and I-don’t-remember-what-dark-color tie, looked like a cartoon superhero! In a good way 😉

Then, a couple days later, I was at the same gym, at the same time. But Drew was wearing a blue suit and looked at least 15 years older. Which got me thinking about color, especially the controversy surrounding who should wear black.

For the most part, I agree with the color analysts who use personal coloring to indicate what to wear. But there are exceptions.  And I haven’t figured them all out yet.

But here is what I am thinking:  A strongly horizontal chin is emphasized by the shadow created by the reflected black, therefore the “color” flatters the line of the face rather than the colors.

What do you think? Could that work for other lines and features?  Just thinking out loud here 😉
