I love scarves! The other day I wore a large black patterned velvet scarf/shawl over a black turtleneck (just draped it across my shoulders and let it hang down in front) and it was a hit. I like the lariat look — I think it’s very chic. I have an orange scarf with white and lime accents that I call my “spotlight” scarf. Worn with black, it draws attention to my face. I wear it when I want people to look at me (I first wore it when addressing the county commissioners at at public meeting).

The scarf shown here is too poofy for me.

I don’t wear dressy scarves (like you would wear with a suit), but often in Winter Weather I wear Wintery scarves. I love the way they look with a sweater or long sleeved shirt. I have lots of fun ones!

The one in the photo frightens me though.

The other day I covered my head, part of my forehead, with a scarf with hair showing underneath. My kid said I looked like I was going to a pirate business meeting. Wore it anyway, though.

I wear a lot of mine with that loop style meant for mufflers where you fold it in half and put it around your neck with the ends part through the loop. It stays “knotted” that way. I also love - but don’t have - the big scarf with fringe that cocoons the neck. Would like to try this and scarf should be, IMO, matte and thin.

I love scarves. I don’t like the scarf in question. I’d feel like I was showing off with that big FOOF yelling for attention.

I love scarves, but it’s usually so hot that I hate to have anything around my neck Even when it gets cooler, I just forget that I have all these wonderful scarves.

Very timely post, Rebecca — folks around here have been turning on their furnaces and putting on fall/winter clothes!

I’m definitely a scarf gal! But I personally favour oversized squares or wide rectangles, not the skinny tie variants shown in Budget Babe’s features 2 & 3. Nor can I carry off scarves as headgear. (I look like a complete dork!)
