My daughter has just started wearing a bra. I am dreading conversations like this, but I know it's important to be candid. Hopefully the mom had a more thorough conversation when they were in private.

This made me laugh! I think maybe "mom" was a bit too embarassed to just say the truth. On my recent dress shopping experience with my daughter I didn't even let her take anything strapless off the rack!

Although not my daughter, I remember honest conversations with a loved one about appropriate wear like that...oh how I dread when it is my daughter's turn for all things bra...

This reminded me of how very glad I am that I have many years before I may have to be involved in any similar conversations with my daughter - to just smile and be grateful in the moment when she insists that she wants to wear her Little Mermaid costume and swimming goggles to the grocery store : )

Sadly, in my former retail days, a co-worker had to kick a mature-enough-to-know-better couple out of the fitting room *ahem. Yuck!

Have some consideration, people!

Ooh, it annoys me when people go out into the store half-wearing something, although I do understand it. But it doesn't annoy me *nearly* as much as the guys who stroll into the ladies' fitting room because their girlfriend/significant other is there. *headdesk*

Oops. I wasn't trying to be mysterious.

Definitely braless beats wearing a bra that's nowhere near covered by the clothing (the one pictured has a built-in bra). I guess my main point is that the mom was failing her daughter by not being honest about what her objection to the dress was.

Thanks for being willing to go first and leave a comment while everyone else is just scratching their heads. lol
