WFMW: Bathroom Makeover
This has nothing to do with what-to-wear, but everything to do with simplicity and order.
Hence forth, I replace my towels annually (as inspired by Mark Cutler Design). Old ones become spare towels, spare towels get demoted to dog towels, and dog towels become my hero’s new rags!
In addition, this tiny all-cotton bath rug was only $4.99 at JCPenney last week, is totally washable, and has no rubber backing to deteriorate.
For less than $50 dollars, a spring bathroom makeover. That works for me!

That is a great idea, and a great deal!!
I am still using my towels that I got for my wedding over 5 years ago!
Isn’t it amazing how just changing out your towels makes a bathroom look new? One year, I decided to take it a little farther. I used a 40% off coupon at Michael’s and bought a large, framed print of a light house. I picked up the colors from the painting for the rugs and towels. I got some little ‘extras’ to go with the seaside theme. All in all, for hardly any money, I had a pretty new bathroom!
What good ideas! We recently moved into a new house and I am looking for ways to spruce up our bare bathroom.
I’m glad you posted this Rebecca! My towels really do need to be replaced. I guess I didn’t know how often people bought new towels. I tend to use them till they are raggy. I’m inspired!

I didn’t know either Jody. But when I saw that at Mark Cutler, it made perfect sense. The last few years I have felt like my towels are always on the edge of needing to be replaced.
We still use our towels that had been given to us for wedding presents 10 years ago. With the exception of a few that accidentally transfered from my moms since then. Oh, and I did purchase one new hand towel last year. The kids are more fortunate, their towels aren’t as old for obvious reasons. Wow, annually? That is one of those things I hope to do when I grow up :). We just started our retirement, maybe I can put it in the budget for next spring.
Thanks for the comment Rebecca! I am glad that you were inspired. Changing the towels doesn’t have to be an expensive thing, keep your eye out for sales and clearances, but what a difference it can make every morning when you get up and stumble into the shower…..
