		<description>Re the pants: Yes, it can be. It's short for 'underpants' which is what most of the rest of the English-speaking world calls 'panties'. In Australia we often call them 'undies' or 'knickers' too.

But trousers can also be called pants.

And a thong? That's what Aussies call one half of a pair of flip-flops... you can imagine the confusion when you need to wear thongs because the showers are so grotty! :)</description>
