Cheater Fashion Lab: Pant-leg Silhouettes

I call this cheating because … well, I am. I was just too lazy to get dressed for pictures, so these are from Zafu fit finder.

Allegedly, wearing tapered pants makes short legs look longer. Of course, most fashionistas have been wearing flares (albeit labelled “boot-cut”). Balancing the hips with volume at the hem was the prevailing concept.

Somehow, Zafu’s model resembles me enough in figure that I dare to ask: What shape jeans do you recommend for me? Rarely do I wear heels, so I can use all the leg-lengthening I can get.

Since this Friday Fashion Lab turned out sort of a “hack” affair, perhaps we will re-visit this topic in the future. In the meantime, I recommend to you the Zafu blog.

  1. How convenient! Those are Old Navy and I just happen to have some money left on a gift card there!

Doug likes the ones on the upper right, but those are Lucky Brand, $98.

The rest are all under $50.

  2. For leg lengthening qualities I suggest a dark wash.

Being extraordinarily short of leg, I was surprised by how flattering skinny jeans can be, and fun when cuffed up with boots or a wedge heel. Also, it keeps them dry. (That said, I mostly wear mine with flats. But I love options.)

So … I’d like to see you try the upper left and the bottom right.

I wore wide leg jeans in the seventies (because everyone did). I will *never* do it again!

  3. I have the same type figure as you plus I have a long torso and short legs. If I wear boot cut jeans I look exaggeratedly curvaceous and therefore, shorter.

I have a pair of grey pin stripe trousers, flat front, somewhat dropped waist with that curving slightly wider waisband and straight legs. I look much longer legged in these. They’re Worthington from Penneys that I got at a thrift store. I would like this cut in everything!

  4. Jeans in the lower right are the best in my opinion. I had fun over at Zafu and found that some of the jeans I already own were suggested for my figure! I wrote a list of some I liked so I can look at them while doing some January Sale Shopping!

    Thanks Rebecca!
